Governor Sununu displays the plaque on the first floor of the State House commemorating the Mayflower Compact, donated by the New Hamopshire Society in ceremonies on November 21, 1936. Speaking at this event was noted Harvard Historian Samuel Eliot Morison (see link to New Yorker story entitled "Plymouth Rocked" in the links page). Presiding was the Society's third Governor, Foster Stearns, who would later serve in the U.S. Congress.
