Welcome to the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New Hampshire
Thank you for visiting the website of the New Hampshire
Mayflower Society, founded in 1930 at historic Exeter, New Hampshire,
our state’s second settlement and colonial capital. The Society’s
purpose as stated in our Charter, includes among other things, “To
perpetuate to a remote posterity the memory of our Pilgrim ancestors,
and to pay homage to and defend the principles of civil and religious
liberty which they promulgated in the ‘Compact of the Mayflower,’ as
set forth in these words,” conveyed to us by the writings of Governor
William Bradford:
“For ye glorie of God, and advancement of ye Christian faith and honour of our…countrie.” Our society seeks to fulfill this mission through genealogical research, scholarships awarded yearly to worthy students, and with various publications and educational programs. As a 501 (c) 3 organization, financial gifts to the society's Memorial Scholarship Fund are tax deductible. Please consider a generous donation, and help assist worthy students whose interests include preserving the values of our Pilgrim forefathers as expressed in the Mayflower Compact. At the following link, see the Winslow House Museum of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, situated in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The museum, and the society's genealogical library are on these grounds. They are well worth a visit for members and non-members, alike.
